Balboa Park is a 1,200 acre park located in San Diego which boasts over 16 museums, 13 gardens, the San Diego Zoo, and multiple performing arts venues. It truly has something for everyone. You could easily spend multiple days here and still not see everything the park has to offer.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a 1,500 acre protected area located north of San Diego along the coast of Southern California. It contains miles of beaches, undisturbed native plant areas, cliffs, hiking trails and stunning views of the coastline. The park is open 365 days a year from 7:15 AM until sunset.

Have you ever wanted to visit an oasis in the desert? Joshua Tree National Park has several. One of the easiest to get to is at Cottonwood Spring, located near the southeastern entrance to the park. The trail is one mile east of the Cottonwood Spring Visitor Center.

The Cholla Cactus Garden Loop is a very easy, flat .25 mile loop located in the Colorado Desert of Joshua Tree National Park. It is almost in the center of the park, about a 10 minute drive from the Arch Rock Nature Trail.

Arch Rock Nature Trail is an easy .5 mile loop located in the White Tank Campground of Joshua Tree National Park. I thought it had some of the most unique rock formations in the park.

Skull Rock Nature Trail in Joshua Tree National Park is a 1.7 mile loop which contains one of the popular rock formations named Skull Rock. The beginning of the trail is located across from Jumbo Rocks Campground and is rated as an easy trail.
