Have you ever wanted to visit an oasis in the desert? Joshua Tree National Park has several. One of the easiest to get to is at Cottonwood Spring, located near the southeastern entrance to the park. The trail is one mile east of the Cottonwood Spring Visitor Center.

The Cholla Cactus Garden Loop is a very easy, flat .25 mile loop located in the Colorado Desert of Joshua Tree National Park. It is almost in the center of the park, about a 10 minute drive from the Arch Rock Nature Trail.

Arch Rock Nature Trail is an easy .5 mile loop located in the White Tank Campground of Joshua Tree National Park. I thought it had some of the most unique rock formations in the park.
This was one of my favorite formations. It looked like a two-headed turtle with a heart carved on its shell.

Skull Rock Nature Trail in Joshua Tree National Park is a 1.7 mile loop which contains one of the popular rock formations named Skull Rock. The beginning of the trail is located across from Jumbo Rocks Campground and is rated as an easy trail.
