Lincoln Park Conservatory, located at 2391 N. Stockton Dr., is a lovely place to spend a leisurely hour enjoying the garden displays. Built in the 1890’s the conservatory consists of four display houses: The Palm House, The Orchid House, the Show House and the Fern Room.

Camellia
Although smaller than the Garfield Park Conservatory, the Lincoln Park Conservatory has an impressive collection of plants and flowers.

All of the camellia flowers blooming were stunning.
Rhododendron
The Rhododendrons were also striking. The flowers you see blooming in this post were taken in February.

Cymbidium Orchids
The Orchid House is beautiful, but it can’t compete with the Orchid Show at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. (I highly recommend attending the Orchid Show at CBG at least once!)
Air Plants
I love visiting The Fern Room in the middle of winter. So much green!
Zinnia
Outside you will find a Formal Garden, as well as, and Old English Garden. It’s a great place to bring a book and relax.
Honestly, I prefer the Garfield Park Conservatory due to its size and ease of parking, but if I am in the area, I do take a quick detour to enjoy the Lincoln Park Conservatory.
Things to know:
Tickets are currently required, due to Covid. Check here for the most recent information regarding covid restrictions, including timed entry, reduced hours and limited capacity.
Parking is available at the conservatory for a hefty $28. There is street parking, but I’ve never had any luck getting a spot.
There is no entrance fee; however, a donation of $10/adult and $5/child is recommended.
The conservatory is located right next to Lincoln Park Zoo, you could combine both and make a day of it.

I took a picture of the purple flower with my Picture This app and it said it was a common onion lol
I have never seen this type of allium before! Now, I want it for my garden but I can’t find the specific scientific name. I’m only finding generic ‘blue allium’ labels.
